About this piece

The Sand Path Earrings are a pair of long earrings: a flexible branch of small sand-coloured frivolité (tatting) lace leaves, with wooden beads scattered in a zigzag along the stem. There isn't a single crystal in them — all the shine comes from the ochre metallic thread and the camel tone of the wood. Because they're woven by hand, the two branches are not exact mirrors: each one fell the way it wanted. These are the earrings of the everyday, with a linen shirt, chunky knits and everything autumn.

Details

Tatting technique, knotted by hand with a shuttle. Sand-coloured metallic thread and round camel wooden beads, woven into the knots rather than glued, which keeps the branch light and in movement: it doesn't pull on the lobe. Gold leverback hook. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 8 cm long by 2 cm wide; weight 4 g the pair.

Care

Wood and lace don't get along with water: take them off before swimming or bathing. Put on perfume and cream first, and the earrings after. They're stored lying flat in their pouch, away from damp.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
