About this piece

The Woven Envelopes Earrings are a pair of large black lace earrings shaped like a sealed envelope, the flap pointed at the top and the base waving at the bottom. The weave combines compact areas with rows of openwork fans and shells, and the surface carries real relief: you can see the groups of knots sitting one over the other. It is a graphic, almost architectural piece, and it shows best with your hair up. Black on black or against a pale shirt, it always wins.

Details

Hand-woven lace, knotted stitch by stitch, with no beads and nothing applied: the volume comes out of the stitch itself. The thread is black with a faint sheen and the weave has body, which is why the envelope holds its silhouette. Silver French hook. Large to look at and light on the ear, as all lace in this technique is. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. They measure 6.5 cm long by 5.5 cm wide; weight 9 g the pair.

Care

Don't get them wet or leave them in damp air for long. Put them on after the perfume and the cream. Store them in their case lying flat, without folding the flap.

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
