About this piece

The Black Rhombus Earrings are a pair of large hand-woven black lace earrings, shaped as a rhombus hung from one of its points. At the centre there is a closed rosette and, from there, the openwork opens out in rays to all four sides, so the piece reads as solid and pierced at the same time. The black thread has a barely-there sheen that catches fire under a raking light. They are pure volume with no weight: they work by day with jeans and a T-shirt, and by night with head-to-toe black.

Details

Hand-woven lace, knotted stitch by stitch, with no beads: the whole drawing is made by the thread alone. The thread is black with a faint sheen and the weave is firm, so the rhombus keeps its plane and its points. Silver French hook. Large as they are, the lace is light and doesn't pull on the lobe. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. They measure 11 cm long by 9 cm wide; weight 9 g the pair.

Care

Keep them dry and take them off to shower or to train. Perfumes and creams always go on first. Store them flat, side by side, so the points of the rhombus don't bend.

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
