About this piece

The Stone Path Earrings (one row) are a pair of long earrings made of five rosettes of silver frivolité (tatting) lace chained one below the other: four round and the last one shaped like a teardrop. Inside each rosette sits a grey-green faceted bead, translucent and mineral in character. The column doesn't fall entirely straight — it waves gently as it moves. The whole palette is grey and silver, so they work with black, with grey and with anything that would rather not compete.

Details

Tatting knotted by hand with a shuttle. Antiqued-silver metallic thread and five flat faceted beads per earring in a grey-green tone, woven into the knots and not glued. Silver leverback hook. The lace looks delicate but is tougher than it seems, and the pair wears light. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 6.5 cm long by 1 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

No water: take them off before the shower or the sea. Perfume and cream go on before the earrings do. They rest best lying flat in their pouch, away from pieces with clasps.

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
