About this piece

The Snowflake Earrings are a pair of drop earrings in silver frivolité (tatting) lace with a champagne cast: out of one large teardrop loop opens a fan of five small petals, edged with clear ice-coloured faceted beads. Seen up close the drawing is frost — a flake knotted instead of frozen. The pair mirrors, and the openwork is very fine. This is the earring for the end-of-year parties, the toasts and everything with lights around it.

Details

Tatting in the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: firm knots that give the flake a structure that won't sag. Silver metallic thread with a champagne cast, and small clear faceted beads following the edge of every petal, woven into the knots and not glued. Silver leverback hook. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 6 cm long by 2.5 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

Water is the one thing that truly ruins them: take them off before the shower. Spray your perfume well away from the lace. Store them flat inside the pouch so the petals keep their spread.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

The body of the piece is woven thread rather than solid metal. The exact findings are confirmed over WhatsApp before purchase; if your skin is highly reactive, ask us and we will check.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
