The Frost Crystal Earrings are a pair of long earrings in silver frivolité (tatting) lace with ice-blue faceted crystals. The drawing is a narrow column: a woven teardrop at the top and, below it, two overlapping trefoils, and between them two rows of crystals grouped in fours that cross the lace like frost stuck to glass. The silver thread has a cold shine that goes with the almost transparent pale blue of the beads. They work with a light coat in winter, and they're one of the few long pairs that look just as good with your hair down.
Details
ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting and knotted by hand with a shuttle: the knot is tight and the drop stays firm, with no internal frame. The thread is silver metallic thread. The beads are ice-blue faceted crystal, translucent, set in two bands of four and woven inside the knots, not glued. The hooks are silver leverback hooks. For all their length, the lace weighs almost nothing and doesn't pull on the lobe. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 6 cm long by 2 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.
Care
Keep them out of water: metallic thread doesn't get along with water or with cleaning products. Store them stretched out in their pouch, away from perfume and cream.
