About this piece

The Sun Emerald Earrings are a pair of medium earrings in gold frivolité (tatting) lace with a pale green faceted crystal at the centre. The motif is an oval medallion woven in arcs, with the large crystal seated in the middle — iridescent, shifting from apple green to pale blue depending on the light — and two dark emerald-green bicones at either side, like leaves. At the four corners, four white imitation pearls close the composition. It's the most luminous piece of the group: green and gold together, in a small version you can wear by day.

Details

ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting, hand-knotted stitch by stitch in pale gold metallic thread. The stones are an iridescent green faceted crystal at the centre, two emerald-green bicone crystals at the sides and four white imitation pearls; all of them are woven into the knots and not glued. The hooks are gold leverback hooks with a snap closure. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 4.5 cm long by 2 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

No water, no chlorine. Store them horizontally in their pouch, away from perfume and cream, so the gold of the thread keeps its shine.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
