Sea Foam Earrings

The Sea Foam Earrings are a pair of long earrings in silver frivolité (tatting) lace with pale blue opaline beads. The drawing is a vertical braid: rings and ovals linked one into the next, running down in an S, with three opaline beads spread through the links and a larger faceted crystal, iridescent between green and pale blue, seated at the centre. It's a movement of water more than a motif: your eye travels down following the rings. They look lovely with your hair up and a V-neck.

Details

Tatting knotted by hand with a shuttle, ring by ring, in silver metallic thread. The beads are pale blue opalines with a milky shine, plus an iridescent faceted crystal in the central link; all of them are woven inside the knots, never glued. The hooks are silver leverback hooks. They're long but you barely feel them: the lace weighs very little and doesn't pull on the lobe. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 6.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

Keep them away from water, the pool and the sea. Store them stretched out in their pouch so the braid doesn't coil up, and put them on after your perfume.
