About this piece

The Dawn Flower Earrings (round) are a pair of medium earrings shaped like an openwork floral medallion: two loops make a figure of eight at the top, and below opens a crown of six large faceted beads wrapped in pale gold frivolité (tatting) lace. The beads alternate strictly between translucent pink and colourless clear, and the centre of the medallion stays empty, which takes visual weight off them. This is the round, brighter version of the Dawn Flower series.

Details

Tatting in the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: the crown comes out firm and the disc keeps its roundness. Pale gold metallic thread and six large faceted beads per earring, in translucent pink and clear, woven into the knots and not glued. Gold leverback hook. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 4.5 cm long by 2.5 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

Take them off before water, the pool and the shower. Perfume and cream go on the skin, never on the lace. Store them resting flat inside the pouch, so the circle doesn't lose its shape.

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
