About this piece

The Copper Flower Earrings are a pair of short earrings with a single flower: five round copper-coloured beads, with sparks glinting inside them, around a smaller clear bead that stands as the centre. The whole petal is woven in grey-silver frivolité (tatting), so the warm and the cold live inside the same flower. They hang from a jump ring, which lets them turn a little as you move. These are for daily wear: small, light and easy to combine.

Details

Tatting knotted by hand with a shuttle. Antiqued-silver metallic thread, five round reddish-brown beads with a sparkling glint and one clear bead at the centre, all woven into the knots and not glued. Silver leverback hook with an intermediate jump ring, which is what gives the flower its movement. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 4 cm long by 2 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

Water does them no good: take them off before washing your face or stepping into the shower. Put on cream and perfume before wearing them. Store them flat in the pouch, without stacking other pieces on top.

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
