About this piece

The Forest Berries Earrings are a pair of long branch-shaped earrings: loops and curled leaves of emerald-green frivolité (tatting) lace falling in a cascade, with round glossy beads held in the forks like berries. The beads come in two tones — raspberry fuchsia veined with white, and translucent lilac — on a satin thread, with no metallic shine. They mirror each other without being identical: each branch grew its own way. This is the most sculptural piece of the series, for when you want people to look at your ears.

Details

Tatting knotted by hand, with no inner frame: the branch stays loose and moves. Emerald-green thread with a satin sheen, not metallic. Between four and six round beads per earring, in veined raspberry fuchsia and translucent lilac, woven into the knots and not glued. Silver leverback hook. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 10 cm long by 2.5 cm wide; weight 9 g the pair.

Care

Keep them dry and away from water. Put your perfume on first, so it doesn't land on the coloured thread. Lay them in their pouch without folding the branches, so they keep the drawing they were woven into.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
