The Emerald Drop Earrings are a pair of medium earrings in gold frivolité (tatting) lace with emerald-green faceted crystals. The motif is a fan: rows of rings opening out in a triangle from a small ring at the top, with a hexagonal gap in the middle and a scalloped edge finishing in some twelve green crystals, one at the tip of every outer ring. The gold of the thread is pale, almost champagne, and the green rests along the edge like drops. They're wide without being long: they don't brush the shoulder and they look just as good with your hair down.
Details
Tatting knotted by hand with a shuttle, ring by ring, in pale gold metallic thread. The crystals are emerald-green faceted crystal, small and even, woven into the knots along the edge and never glued. The hooks are gold leverback hooks. The piece has body of its own and keeps its fan shape, but it's light and doesn't pull on the lobe. They match the Gota de Esmeralda Necklace. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 5.5 cm long by 4 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.
Care
Keep them away from water. Put them on after perfume and cream, and store them in their pouch lying flat so the fan doesn't close up.
