The Honey Drop Earrings are a pair of medium earrings in gold frivolité (tatting) lace with honey-coloured faceted crystals. The motif is a diamond-shaped cluster: every woven ring carries its own crystal inside, seven across the body of the piece, and from the bottom point hangs a larger, paler faceted drop. The crystals have an iridescent glint that turns pale blue when you look at them from the side, and tiny gold seed beads appear between the rings. It's the warmest pair of the group: gold and amber, with nothing cold in it.
Details
ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting, hand-knotted stitch by stitch in gold metallic thread. Each honey-coloured faceted crystal is housed inside its own ring and woven into the knots, not glued, with gold seed beads spread through the joins; the lower drop hangs free and moves as you walk. The hooks are gold leverback hooks. The cluster looks solid but the whole thing weighs very little. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 5 cm long by 2.3 cm wide; weight 4 g the pair.
Care
Keep them out of water. Store them horizontally in their pouch with nothing on top, and put your perfume on before the earrings so the gold thread doesn't go dull.
