Ocean Drops Earrings

The Ocean Drops Earrings are a pair of long earrings in silver frivolité (tatting) lace with pale blue faceted crystals scattered through the whole weave. The motif builds an openwork diamond, open like a net, and the beads hang from the picots like drops that haven't fallen yet: some clear, some with a frosted finish. The whole piece hangs from the post, so it moves with you and follows the line of the neck. These are the ones you wear with your hair up and not much else.

Details

Worked in tatting with the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: tight knot, firm structure and defined edges. The thread is silver metallic thread and the pale blue faceted crystals are woven into the knots, not glued. The finding is a silver post (pin) with a pale blue crystal set into it and a butterfly back. For all their size, the lace weighs very little and doesn't pull on the lobe. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 5 cm long by 3.5 cm wide; weight 3 g the pair.

Care

Don't get them wet and don't store them damp. Put them on after perfume and cream, never before. They rest better lying down in their pouch than hanging.
