The Misty Garden Earrings are a pair of frivolité (tatting) lace earrings woven in champagne-silver thread, each carrying a smoky grey faceted stone and two small peach crystals. Three openwork rings interlace into a teardrop with an irregular outline, like a garden seen through the fog. The stone in each earring brings its own pattern of veining, so the pair is never quite symmetrical. They sit well with grey and camel knits and with coats, from the office to an evening out.
Details
They're hand-knotted, stitch by stitch with a shuttle, in the tatting technique, using champagne-silver metallic thread for that cool shine. Each earring carries a round smoky grey faceted stone, mineral in character, and two small translucent faceted beads in a peach champagne tone; all of them woven into the knots, not glued. The hooks are silver leverback hooks, and the drop holds its shape without weight: it's lace, it doesn't pull on the lobe. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 3.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide; weight 3 g the pair.
Care
Take them off before bathing or swimming, and keep them away from water. Store them in their pouch, well away from perfume and cream, and lay them flat so the lace doesn't lose its shape.
