About this piece

The Golden Lagoon Earrings (short) are a pair of gold frivolité (tatting) lace earrings built from a line of five or six chained rings that ripples like a stream. Inside every ring sits a bead: translucent turquoise, clear and crackle glass with the look of ice, one after the other. Being short, they follow the movement without disappearing under your hair, and gold with sea-water blue works as well with pale linen as with a summer dress.

Details

Each earring is knotted by hand with a shuttle in the tatting technique, using gold metallic thread; the pair mirrors, it isn't identical. The beads — translucent turquoise, clear and crackle glass — go one to a ring and stay woven inside the knots, never glued. They close with a gold leverback hook on a jump ring, and the chain of rings keeps its shape firmly although it weighs almost nothing. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 6 cm long by 1 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

Don't take them to the pool or the sea, and take them off before the shower. They're best stored flat in their pouch, away from perfume and hand cream.

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
