About this piece

The Golden Lagoon Earrings (long) are a pair of long earrings in gold frivolité (tatting) lace: a single woven ribbon that comes down in S-curves and holds, at every bend, a clear glass sphere alternating with smaller turquoise beads. Through the glass you can watch the run of the gold thread, and the whole thing reads like drops of water caught in the light. This is the party version of the Lagoon line: long, luminous and surprisingly light.

Details

The weave is tatting made by hand with a shuttle, in gold metallic thread with an olive cast. They carry clear glass spheres — around five per earring — with small clear turquoise-aquamarine beads set in between, all held inside the knots and not glued. The findings are gold leverback hooks joined by a jump ring, and the woven ribbon hangs loose without losing the drawing of the wave. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 8 cm long by 1 cm wide; weight 6 g the pair.

Care

Water is their enemy: take them off before swimming or showering. Store them stretched out in their pouch and keep them away from perfume, hairspray and cream.

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
