Frozen Morning Earrings

The Frozen Morning Earrings are a pair of long earrings in silver frivolité (tatting) lace with blue faceted crystals that throw an iridescent reflection. The motif is shaped like a lantern: an elongated diamond that opens from a single bead at the top point, fills with loops through the middle and closes at the bottom with a little spray of four crystals. The blues are gathered in the centre, like frost that collected in one single spot. It's an evening piece, but the silver makes it wearable by day with plain clothes.

Details

Worked in tatting with the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: dense knots that hold the diamond stretched without letting it close in on itself. The thread is silver metallic thread and the blue faceted crystals with their iridescent reflection are woven into the knots, not glued. Findings: silver leverback hook. Long to look at and light on the ear. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 8 cm long by 3 cm wide; weight 4 g the pair.

Care

Keep them away from water, steam and cleaning products. Put them on once your perfume has dried. They rest better in the pouch, lying flat, so the diamond doesn't lose its shape.
