About this piece

The Snow Mantle Earrings are a pair of long earrings in silver frivolité (tatting) lace made of a cascade of interlaced rings running down in a zigzag. Inside each ring sit clear ice-coloured faceted crystals, and that alternation of full and empty makes the piece look longer than it is. There's no central pendant: the design is one continuous garland, so it's moving all the time. These are the earrings for a winter party or for a wedding.

Details

Worked in tatting with the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: every ring stays firm and holds the next one with no metal base. The thread is silver metallic thread and the clear faceted crystals are woven into the knots, not glued. Findings: silver leverback hook. They pair with the Manto de Nieve Necklace, from the same line. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 7 cm long by 1.7 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

Keep them dry: no pool, no sea, no steam room. Perfume and cream go first, the earrings after. Store them stretched out in their pouch so the cascade of rings doesn't tangle.

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
