The Lavender Butterfly Earrings are a pair of earrings with a butterfly motif woven in frivolité (tatting) with matte lilac thread. Four openwork rings build the wings around the body, and a tiny ring at the top closes the head, with an outline that is barely asymmetric, as if it were about to take off. Here the thread isn't metallic: the lace looks textile and soft, and the lilac with the light-blue beads makes a springlike combination, ideal for the daytime.
Details
Hand-knotted stitch by stitch in the tatting technique, with matte lilac thread and no metallic strand — that's what gives it the textile finish. Each butterfly carries small faceted crystals in an opaline light blue, semi-transparent: one at the centre and three or four spread across the wings, woven into the knots and not glued. The hooks are silver leverback hooks with an elongated leaf-shaped plate that follows the motif. The drop is firm and very light. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide; weight 3 g the pair.
Care
Better not to get them wet: matte thread absorbs more than metallic. After wearing them, store them flat in the pouch and away from perfume, cream and sunscreen.
