Golden Onyx Earrings (long)

The Golden Onyx Earrings (long) are a pair of long earrings in gold frivolité (tatting) lace with black faceted crystals spread through the whole motif. The arabesque comes down in interlaced curves and finishes at the bottom in a closed rosette, with more than a dozen black beads sown between the rings. The gold is warm and full, and the black gives it the visual weight that makes them read from across the room. These are going-out earrings: with your hair up, they work on their own.

Details

Worked in classic tatting, with rings and arcs built one by one with the shuttle. The thread is gold metallic thread and every black faceted crystal is woven into the knots, not glued. Findings: gold leverback hook. The lace looks delicate and is tougher than it seems, and for all its length it stays light. There's also a short version and a bracelet in the same line. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 6.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide; weight 4 g the pair.

Care

Keep them dry and away from chlorine. Cosmetics go first and the earrings last. Store them lying down in their pouch so the arabesque doesn't twist.
