The Wine Petals Earrings are a pair of gold frivolité (tatting) lace earrings with five round wine-coloured beads, one to a petal. The weave builds a five-pointed flower and every bead is held inside its own ring of thread, with the paler veining of the stone left on show and a tiny dark blue faceted crystal right at the centre. It is a deep autumn colour that the gold lifts without ever making it loud. They look good with knitwear, a white shirt or a plain dark dress.
Details
Worked in tatting with the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: the knots are pulled tighter and the flower keeps its shape with no inner frame. The thread is gold metallic thread; the five round wine-coloured beads are mineral in character, with a polished shine and veining of their own, and they are woven into the knots, not glued on. At the centre sits a dark blue faceted crystal. Gold hoop-style hook with a clasp. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. They measure 4.5 cm long by 3 cm wide; weight 12 g the pair.
Care
Keep them away from water: take them off before the shower, the pool or the sea. Perfume and cream first, earrings after. Store them lying flat in their case so the flower doesn't lose its plane.
