About this piece

The Snow Dew Earrings are a pair of silver frivolité (tatting) lace earrings built as a small rectangular panel covered in opaline beads. The weave starts from an open ring at the top and opens into rows of loops that finish in rounded scallops at the bottom; inside, large milky white beads live alongside tiny clear seed beads with a light-blue sheen, like drops of water on snow. The effect is cold and luminous at once. They are made for brides, winter parties and anything that calls for white.

Details

Worked in tatting with the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: the tighter knot is what lets this dense panel stay light. The thread is silver metallic thread. The milky white opaline beads and the clear seed beads with their light-blue sheen are woven into the knots, not glued on. Silver hoop-style hook with a clasp. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. They measure 6 cm long by 2 cm wide; weight 6 g the pair.

Care

Keep them away from water and damp. Put your perfume and cream on before you put them on. Store them lying flat in their case with nothing stacked on top, so the panel keeps its shape.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
