Silver Violet Earrings

The Silver Violet Earrings are a pair of silver frivolité (tatting) earrings with four polished dark violet spheres arranged in a cross around a centre of milky beads. The lace works as a setting: it holds each sphere from behind and leaves the colour in full view, with the air of an antique jewel. The hook adds a plate of openwork filigree, so the design keeps working above the lobe too. They go with black, with grey and with every shade of wine.

Details

Hand-knotted stitch by stitch in the tatting technique, with silver metallic thread. They carry four large dark violet spheres, mineral in character, and four or five small faceted beads in a milky colour with a bluish sheen forming the centre; all of them woven into the knots, not glued. The findings are silver leverback hooks with decorative openwork filigree. The motif is firm and keeps its cross shape. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly the same. They measure 4 cm long by 2 cm wide; weight 5 g the pair.

Care

Take them off before water and the pool. Store them lying in their pouch and apart from perfume and cream, which dull the shine of the thread over time.
