Copo de Nieve Necklace

Copo de Nieve means snowflake, and this is a choker in frivolité (tatting) lace worked in champagne-silver thread with white opaline beads. The woven ribbon keeps one rhythm end to end — a long open ring, then a small one with a milky bead inside it, always the same width, like a length of antique lace ribbon. It is the most wintry thing we make and also the most bridal: over a simple neckline or a pale dress, it is enough on its own.

Details

Hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, in tatting, in champagne-silver metallic thread with a pearled beige tone. The beads are small, white and semi-translucent with an opaline glow, set one to each little ring along the whole length, knotted into the lace rather than glued. It is a closed choker worn right at the throat, fastening with a small clasp in a dark silver tone. The lace is flat, even in width and very light. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. It measures 31 cm long by 1.3 cm wide; weight 5 g.

Care

Like all fine lace, it does not get on with water: take it off before you shower. Store it flat in its case and keep it clear of perfume and cream.
