Manto de Nieve Necklace

The Manto de Nieve Necklace — blanket of snow — is a choker in frivolité (tatting) lace worked in silver metallic thread, built as a continuous chain of interlaced rings that form even scallops along the top and the bottom. In every arc rests a white seed bead with a pearly shine, and the whole thing reads on the skin like a fine frost. It sits right at the throat, and a plain neckline in black or white is all it needs.

Details

Hand-knotted with a shuttle, stitch by stitch, in the tatting technique, in silver metallic thread with a cool shine. The pearly white seed beads are woven into the knots rather than glued, set one to a ring along both edges of the lace. It fastens at the back with a silver lobster clasp hooked into a loop woven in the same thread. It is light, and even so the weave holds its shape resting on the neck. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. It measures 47 cm long by 1.7 cm wide; weight 13 g.

Care

Keep it away from water and put it on last, once the perfume and the cream have dried. Store it stretched out flat in its case so the scallops don't curl into each other.
