The Gota de Esmeralda Necklace — emerald drop — is a choker in champagne-coloured frivolité (tatting) lace with emerald-green faceted crystals set into every ring. The weave builds a garland of interlaced loops and, in the hollow of each one, a dark green drop cuts across the metallic shine of the thread. Depending on the light the champagne reads cool silver or soft gold, so the necklace changes mood between day and night. It rests at the base of the neck and shows best with a V-neck or an unbuttoned shirt.
Details
Worked in tatting with the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting: a tight knot, beads inside the weave and a band that holds its shape. The thread is champagne-coloured metallic thread and the emerald-green faceted crystals are woven into the knots, not glued on. It fastens with a lobster clasp. It matches the Gota de Esmeralda earrings. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. It measures 45.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide; weight 6 g.
Care
Keep it dry: take it off before the shower, the pool or the sea. Perfume and cream go on first. Store it lying in its case, stretched out and unfolded, so the garland doesn't take a crease.
