About this piece

The Laguna Dorada Necklace — golden lagoon — is a narrow choker of gold frivolité (tatting) lace that travels in one continuous wave, wrapping a line of round clear glass beads as it goes. Smaller emerald green beads surface between them, like the flecks water throws when the sun hits it. The same motif repeats end to end, so the necklace sits evenly and you can put it on without thinking: with a tee and jeans by day, with a light dress at night.

Details

Tatting worked by hand in a strong yellow-gold metallic thread, the reason for that summer shine. It alternates round clear glass beads with smaller green ones, all knotted into the lace rather than glued. It fastens with a gold lobster clasp, and the whole thing is so light you barely feel it on. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. It measures 47 cm long by 1 cm wide; weight 15 g.

Care

Water and metallic thread do not mix: take it off before the shower or the pool. Store it lying flat in its case, away from perfume and cosmetics.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
