About this piece

The Escarcha de Frambuesa Bracelet — frost on raspberry — is a frivolité (tatting) lace bracelet worked in a line, alternating large oval bows with small rings, each one holding a pale lavender-blue glass bead. That rhythm leaves the edge lightly scalloped and the band flat and flexible, so it settles onto the wrist by itself. The deep fuchsia thread under those cool beads is exactly what the name says: frost on a raspberry. Fresh, fruity, made for summer.

Details

Hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, in raspberry-coloured metallic thread. The translucent pale lavender-blue glass beads, round and very slightly flattened, are knotted into the lace rather than glued. It fastens with a folding silver hook that clips onto a woven loop in the lace itself. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. It measures 20.7 cm long by 1.3 cm wide; weight 4 g.

Care

No water, and no perfume sprayed straight onto the lace. Store it flat in its case and away from creams, so the fuchsia stays as vivid as it was on day one.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
