About this piece

The Mariposa de Hielo Bracelet — ice butterfly — is a link bracelet in frivolité (tatting) lace in silver metallic thread, where every link is a butterfly: two pairs of woven wings meeting at the centre and chaining on to the next. Inside the wings sit faceted crystals in an ice blue, opaque and soft, with nothing shrill about them. The whole bracelet looks like a line of butterflies settled on the wrist.

Details

Hand-knotted stitch by stitch in the ANKARS technique, developed on the base of classic tatting, in silver metallic thread with a firm knot: the wings keep their relief and the bracelet stands up on its own. The ice-blue faceted crystals are woven into the knots, not glued on. It fastens with a silver lobster clasp hooked into a loop woven in the same thread. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. It measures 20.5 cm long by 1.5 cm wide; weight 3 g.

Care

Keep it away from water and don't store it next to heavy metal pieces. Its place is the case, flat and away from perfume and cream.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
