About this piece

The Flor de Cobre Bracelet — copper flower — is a wide bracelet in silver-grey frivolité (tatting) lace built from floral motifs: each flower is a cluster of five or six round copper-coloured beads around a pale centre, and the flowers sit in two slightly offset rows. It is the piece with the most body in the shop — the beads all but cover the lace and the texture reads like a cluster of fruit. Warm, autumnal and thoroughly handmade; over a neutral wool jumper it needs no help at all.

Details

Hand-worked in the ANKARS technique, developed from classic tatting, in grey-silver metallic thread in an antiqued tone, which holds the volume of every flower. The round copper-coloured beads, flecked with gold and mineral-looking, are knotted into the lace rather than glued; each centre takes a smaller pale bead. It fastens with a silver hook that catches on a woven ring in the lace. Every piece is one of a kind: hand-knotted, stitch by stitch, so no two come out exactly alike. It measures 18 cm long by 2 cm wide; weight 13 g.

Care

Keep it away from water, perfume and cream. Store it flat in its case so the flowers do not get crushed.

The body of the piece is woven thread rather than solid metal. The exact findings are confirmed over WhatsApp before purchase; if your skin is highly reactive, ask us and we will check.

How do I care for it?

Keep it dry: water, perfume, cream and chlorine loosen the thread and dull the colour. Clean it only with a dry, soft cloth, and store it flat in its pouch, apart from other pieces and away from humidity.

Can I order an identical one?

Not identical: each piece is woven once, and that exact combination of thread, knot and stone is never repeated. We can weave one inspired by it, in your colours and with the stone you choose, as a custom order.
